Georgetown Carport
To improve access to this garage apartment in the historic district of Georgetown, we removed the original rock driveway and poured a 135-foot long, rebar-reinforced, cement driveway that extends from the street to the garage. On the existing structure, we installed new windows, replaced and painted some siding, and built barn doors. Finally, we constructed a 20 x 20 metal carport with custom column caps and a front gable to match the craftsman style of the main house. The result is a polished carport, that feels cohesive with the existing architecture, and allows generous amounts of storage in the now enclosed garage.
